As an architect I have always been drawn to glass and in my own house, with the problem of replacing original cast glass blocks from the early thirties, now partially destroyed by time and frost. This issue brought me to glass casting where new avenues have opened for me .
I am fascinated by layering, by inclusion, by the skin and interior of three dimensional transparent and translucent forms, by optical effect and illusion, reflection and refraction which are inherent in worked glass.
I enjoy the dialogue between multiple pieces and their many arrangements; this leads inevitably towards assemblage and juxtapositions as a continuous kinetic theatre.
